Fortune Makaringe in Talks With Cape Town City

Former Orlando Pirates midfielder, Fortune Makaringe, may be heading to a new Premier Soccer League (PSL) club.

On Tuesday, 4 June, Pirates confirmed the news of Makaringe’s departure. Near the end of his stint, he had made only 11 appearances and scored one goal across all competitions during the 2023/24 PSL season.

Now, according to recent reports, the 31-year-old free agent is already in talks with Cape Town City about joining the club. What’s more, it is said that he’s close to agreeing to personal terms with the Citizens.

If these reports are true, then we might well see Makaringe playing for City in the upcoming PSL season, which kicks off on 17 August 2024.

If anything, folks on Twitter/X are enthusiastic about Makaringe’s talents potentially being put to good use at another club, with one fan writing: “Cape Town City will be fire next season.”
